Spooky Treats
One of our favorite things about Halloween is the treats! As we've said before, Halloween is a great time to unleash your creativity and what better way to do so than with food? Here we share with you our top five favorite spooky treat recipes.
Spooky Spider Deviled Eggs
Make your deviled eggs extra creepy by turning them into spooky spiders. Simply slice black olives in half and use them as the spider bodies, then use small pieces of olives for the legs. Place them on top of your deviled eggs, and you'll have a ghoulishly delicious appetizer!
Ingredients
6 large eggs
2 Tbsp. mayo
1 tsp. mustard
1.5 Tbsp. dill relish
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
sliced black olives cut in half
Instructions
1. Fill a large pot with water; bring to a boil over high. Carefully lower eggs into boiling water, cook undisturbed for 11 minutes.
2. Make an ice bath by filling a large bowl halfway with ice; add water to cover. Using a slotted spoon, immediately transfer cooked eggs from boiling water to ice bath. Let stand until completely cooled, at least 5 minutes.
3. Peel the hard-boiled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
4.Scoop out the yolks in to a bowl and add your mayo, mustard, relish, salt, and pepper. Mash with a fork until smooth.
5.Spoon or pipe about 1 tablespoon filling into each egg white half and arrange the black olive slices to look like legs.
Mummy Dogs
Wrap your hot dogs in strips of refrigerated crescent roll dough to create mummy-like wrappings.
Ingredients
1 package of hotdogs
Refrigerated crescent roll dough
Ketchup or mustard for the eyes
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven according to the crescent roll dough package instructions.
2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles, take triangles and stretch slightly to make longer.
3. Wrap the stretched dough around a hot dog, leaving a small gap near one end for the "eyes."
4. Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet and bake according to the crescent roll dough package instructions, or until the dough is golden brown.
5. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Use mustard or ketchup to create eyes.
Witch's Brew Punch
You can't have a Halloween treat without a drink! Drink this super easy Witche's Brew as is or add some rum to make fun!
Ingredients
4 cups pineapple juice
2 liter lemon lime soda
1 quart of rainbow sherbert
2 cups white rum (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large punch bowl, combine the lemon lime soda and pineapple juice as well as rum if using.
2. Using a scope, drop the sherbert into the soda and juice.
3.Stir gently to mix the ingredients and serve either over ice or how it is!
Jack-O-Lantern Stuffed Peppers
Not all Halloweentreats have to be sweet! Try this savory delicious stufffed pepper recipe with a twist!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup diced onion
1 clove garlic minced
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 can black beans (14.5 ounce drained and rinsed)
2 cans tomato sauce (about 8 ounces)
1 1/2 cups cooked rice
1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar
4 orange bell peppers
salt & pepper (to taste)
Instructions
1. Slice the stem end off of each pepper. Remove the seeds and center from the peppers, then cut a jack o lantern face out of the side.
If needed, cut a small amount of the pepper off of the bottom so that they stand upright. Season the inside of the peppers with salt, then
place in a baking dish and set aside.
2. Preheat the oven to 400ºF
3. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil followed by the ground beef, salt, and pepper.
Cook until almost browned, then add the onions, garlic, chili powder, and cumin. Cook for 3 minutes more.
4.Add the black beans and tomato sauce to the ground beef. Cook for 3 minutes, then fold in the rice. Gently stuff the peppers,
being sure to add extra so that the filling is coming out of the top. Place the stem side of the pepper on top of the stuffing,
then arrange in the baking dish. Add ¼ cup of water to the baking dish and cover with foil.
5. ake the peppers until they become tender, but still have a slight crunch, about 15 minutes. Remove the stem side of the pepper,
sprinkle each with an even amount of cheese, then replace the top and serve.
Halloween Rice Cereal Treats
These rice cereal treats are so good they could bring the dead back to life!
Ingredients
8 Tbsp unsalted butter
15 ounces marshmallows

2 tsp vanilla extract
9 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
1 cups Halloween M&Ms
1/2 cup Halloween Sprinkles
1 cups candy corn
Instructions
1. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with cooking spray and set aside.
2. Melt the butter and the marshmallows in a medium sized saucepan over medium-low heat.
Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Quickly stir in the cereal. Stir in the candy and sprinkles.
3. Pour the marshmallow-cereal mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press to flatten. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
